The new CD, Paint the Sky, is FINALLY out!
Only a couple years later than we had originally hoped or expected, but we always strive for quality and wanted to be sure we offered up the very best CD possible.
The original concept was to present two CDs, one in the standard stereo format and the other in surround sound. The idea was to present the music in a way that would fully engulf the listener in a sonic experience that would be different from anything else ever experienced.
Making the CD followed this idea and all the parts were recorded with this goal in mind. There are many different parts and many different layers using different guitars with different effects and sounds, along with bass, keyboards, drums and percussion. The goal was to make this an orchestral experience with a rock sound, and by utilizing surround sound technology, we could have more separation of the parts, making each part more distinct and easily discernable.
Unfortunately, when it finally came time to mix and master the entire CD, the costs were just too high for us to justify. (Maybe someday we will remix and master this to fulfill that part of the dream).
In any case the stereo version was completed and we decided to have this CD professionally mastered, employing the services of John Scrip at Massive Mastering – Chicago, IL, USA.
We are extremely proud of this CD – the entire song sequence was planned out from the very beginning, paying close attention to the feel and mood of the songs and how they all fit together from beginning to end. As promised there are more blues influences present in several of the songs, but there is also a wide range of other styles, including rock, jazz, metal, fusion, acoustic, etc. Please take a moment to listen to the song samples on the Music page.
We have mixed and mastered the new album. It should be available in the next couple of weeks. There are 11 songs ranging from Rock, to Blues, to Acoustic.
Acidmyers is almost ready to launch our second album this summer. This CD will be more on the blues theme.
Acidmyers is pleased to report a new CD is currently in the works and is tentatively scheduled for release in the Winter of 2009.
The follow up to the debut, Worlds Unknown, will continue the group’s commitment to expanding and redefining the scope of instrumental guitar music, but it looks like it will have more of a blues edge to the music. With Worlds Unknown, the group focused on creating a collection of songs that would represent the many different styles and genres of music that influence and contribute to their overall sound. However, it wasn’t until the CD was finished that the group realized one very important aspect seemed to be almost completely missing, and that was the blues. While the new CD will not be all blues songs, and it certainly will not be a traditional blues album, it will certainly have more songs that reflect the energy and the emotion that can be found in the blues, but twisted and mutated just enough to make them Acidmyers songs.

The Debut CD from Acidmyers, Worlds Unknown, has been released to the public and now available for purchase through CDBaby.
After a lot of effort and hard work, the band is extremely pleased to finally have the first CD completed and released. The CD is a collection of 10 original guitar instrumentals with strong melodies and showcases the band’s many different influences, touching on a wide range of musical genres including, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Acoustic Finger-style, Hard Rock/Metal, and Fusion. The culmination of several years working together, we hope this CD serves as an example of musicians who are committed to making music simply for the love of music, and dedicated to elevating music to the highest art form possible. The CD features some interesting artwork (cover by Sue and Walter Mierendorf; inside artwork and CD back by Craig Bohannan). It also features extensive liner notes providing a narrative for each song – perhaps a semi-autobiographical account told through the songs. The CD and downloads are available through CDBaby, as well, as Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, eMusic, Rhapsody, Verizon, and many more. Please see the Shop page for a complete list of companies selling the CD along with individual tracks.
